India Utkramit Middle School Initiative
Giving students in Jharkhand, India their first opportunity to do a science experiment.

Yash, a 17-year old from Jharkhand, India, came to CMHQ with a passion to increase STEM education within his community. While he had the drive and concrete ideas, like many youth around the world, he didn’t have the resources and support he needed to make this impact.
Seeing Yash’s drive to make this impact, CMHQ helped in bringing his vision to life. We developed a simple volcano curriculum alongside our trusted partners, established a connection with a local school of Utkramit middle school, and supported in finding other youth in Yash’s community interested in aiding with the initiative. Our focus was on streamlining these processes using our credibility, so Yash could focus on delivering the science experiment.
“The kids’ smiles and wonder as the volcano exploded is a moment I’ll never forget.” Yash and other youth of his community were able to run this science experiment with 80 students from a local school in his community. This was their first opportunity, ever, to engage in a science experiment.
