CMHQ's Proven Curriculum

See the exact 6-week plan to build your project

Students begin by uncovering what makes them unique — their passions, values, and experiences that could shape a meaningful project. We guide them through interactive exercises and mentor-led discussions to help them identify a core purpose. By the end of the week, they'll have a clear personal "why" that can anchor their project and shine in college essays.

Now that students know what drives them, we help them translate that into a high-impact project idea. They'll learn how to set meaningful goals, define success, and outline the steps required to get there. Mentors review and refine every student's idea to ensure it's college-app-ready.

Students start building — whether it's a website, campaign, curriculum, event, or nonprofit initiative. They'll work through toolkits and templates tailored to their project type, with mentors available for support and troubleshooting. By the end of the week, their project will be live or in motion.

With their project launched, students now gather feedback and analyze results. They make strategic improvements and expand the reach of their initiative through social media, partnerships, or community engagement. This week reinforces real-world problem-solving and iteration — skills colleges love to see.

Students learn how to position their work in essays, interviews, and applications with confidence. They'll practice articulating their impact, writing personal statements, and framing their journey in a way that speaks to top-tier admissions. By the end, each student will have a polished narrative ready for their Common App or supplemental essays.

Students deliver a final presentation of their project to their cohort, receiving meaningful feedback and celebrating how far they've come. Everyone receives a completion certificate and becomes part of the global CMHQ alumni network.

"I was finally able to make the impact I've always wanted in my community. I never knew I had it in me to build a project like this."

FAQs

Sessions for the CMHQ Passion Project Accelerator are held entirely online, making it accessible to students anywhere in the world. All you need is a device and internet connection to join live, interactive sessions with mentors and peers.

You can start anytime! Once accepted, your teen will be placed in the next available 6-week cohort that fits their schedule.

The program runs for 6 weeks, with weekly 1-hour live sessions plus approximately 2 hours of independent project work each week.

The program is designed for students ages 13–18, typically entering Grades 9 through 12 (or international equivalents).

We use a small-group model (cohort-based), but students get individualized guidance on their projects, including written feedback and check-ins.

We guide students to discover their unique purpose and passions in Week 1 — the foundation of a meaningful project. Through reflective exercises and mentor-led discussions, they uncover what truly drives them.

The full program is $500 USD, all-inclusive — covering live sessions, mentor support, and your final certificate.

We offer a refund policy within the first week of the program. Please contact us for more details about our refund policy.

All sessions are recorded and available for review. Students can catch up on any missed content and schedule make-up sessions with their mentor if needed.
