Tanzania HOPE Orphanage Initiative
Giving youth in an orphanage in Tanzania their first opportunity to do a science experiment.
January 17th, 2024
Hanah, a 16-year-old from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, has had a lifelong passion for two things: the sciences and service. Yet, looking around at her community, she realized many kids did not have the same opportunity to engage in science as she had. With her passion for service, this realization ignited a fire in her to go out and make an impact in her community, democratizing access to science.
With our support and Hanah’s passion, CMHQ helped in bringing this impact to life. Supporting in fundraising, developing a team and curriculum, and establishing a connection with a local orphanage, the initiative came to life. Youth in HOPE orphanage in Dar es Salaam were able to experience their first science experiment ever; a self-inflating balloon experiment.
“Our experiment was a success as the children were extremely happy and shocked to see a balloon expand on its own. In fact, many of them also had questions for us, such as how the balloon managed to blow up on its own, why the balloons weren’t being filled completely, and why they popped, among many more questions.”
“I never thought it would be possible for me to make a change like this.”
For ambitious youth wanting to lead service initiatives in your communities, CMHQ provides curriculums, connections, and a team, so you can focus on the impact that truly matters. Start leading in your community today.
